The ingredients needed to cook Japanese plum syrup:
- Use 1 kg Japanese plum
- Prepare 1 kg sugar (any sugar such as rock sugar or crystal sugar.)
Steps to make Japanese plum syrup:
- If you rinse plum, remove any water.
- Remove stem end. (Use toothpicks.)
- Add plums and sugar alternately in a sanitized jar.
- Store the jar in a cool & dark place for 1 month. Shake the jar occasionally. (Don’t open the lid!)
- After a month, it’s time to open the lid. Take plums out. Heat syrup in a pan and bring to boiling.
- Once boiled, add the syrup into a sanitized jar and store in fridge. (Nice golden color!)
